Blade Ball FAQ
All Questions
What is Blade Ball?
Blade Ball is a Roblox anime-style sword dodgeball game by Wiggity., released in June 2023. Up to 16 players deflect an accelerating homing ball back and forth — last player standing wins the round. It has passed 6.3 billion visits with over 12.7 million favorites.
Is Blade Ball dead in 2026?
No. Blade Ball still holds a five-digit concurrent player count (around 15,000 players online on a typical August 2026 day) and received its latest content update on August 9, 2026. Player counts are lower than the 2023-2024 peak, which is where the "dying" chatter comes from, but the game is actively maintained and its search interest has been rising again this summer.
Why did Blade Ball switch to R15, and is that why it feels laggy?
The developers migrated player characters to Roblox's R15 avatar rig in a mid-2026 update, which changed animations and hitbox feel. Many players reported the game feeling different or laggier right after the switch — some of that is genuine adjustment to new animations, and performance has been patched since. If it still stutters for you, lower the graphics quality slider in Roblox settings before blaming the rig.
Is Blade Ball pay-to-win?
Mostly no. Every ability that affects gameplay can be bought with coins earned by playing, and deflect timing — the skill that actually wins rounds — cannot be purchased. Robux spending accelerates unlocks (and one ability, Phase Bypass, is only available through a paid pack), so it is pay-to-progress-faster rather than pay-to-win.
How do I get tokens in Blade Ball?
Tokens are the event currency: you earn them from Battle Pass tiers, event spins, and limited-time modes while an event is running. They spend on event-shop items like emotes and cosmetics. When an event ends, its unspent tokens usually go with it, so spend before the timer runs out.
What is RAP in Blade Ball?
RAP stands for Recent Average Price — a rolling estimate of what an item has actually traded for recently. Traders use it as a baseline for whether a swap is fair. Read our RAP & Values guide for how it is calculated and why two swords with the same RAP can still trade very differently.
Can I play Blade Ball on Xbox, and what are the controls?
Yes — Blade Ball runs on any platform that runs Roblox, including Xbox. On controller, the core input is the deflect button (X on Xbox), with abilities on the shoulder buttons. Deflect timing matters more than input device; plenty of top players use controller.
Where can I find working Blade Ball codes?
Our codes page keeps the current list, cross-checked against three independent sources — including two codes that other lists still show as working but have actually expired. New codes usually drop on the official Discord and X (Twitter) around updates and visit milestones.
How many abilities are there in Blade Ball?
60 in the main game: 32 purchasable with coins (from 300-coin Invisibility up to the 20,000-coin Guardian Angel) and 28 limited or event abilities. The Elementals game mode has its own separate set of 28 abilities on top of that. See our Abilities Index for every price.
Is using a macro or auto-parry allowed in Blade Ball?
No. Auto-parry scripts and macros violate Roblox's Terms of Use, and Blade Ball has run ban waves against them. Beyond the ban risk, they also flatten the one skill the game is about. We do not cover or link to any of these tools.
